Experienced full back Sead returns to the fold this season after a loan spell back at Schalke last term, the club where he made his name in the Bundesliga.
Born in Germany to Bosnian parents, the left-footed defender, who can play in a back three as well in a marauding wing back role, had spells at the Karlsruhe, Hoffenheim and Schalke academies before graduating to the latter’s second team – and moving up again to the first-team squad after just seven appearances. He spent six seasons in the senior side and was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season for 2016/17 before signing for Arsenal that summer.
He made an instant impact, scoring on his debut against Chelsea in the Community Shield, a game the Gunners drew 1-1 before winning on penalties.
The Bosnian, who featured at the 2014 World Cup, won the FA Cup in August 2020 before rejoining Schalke on loan in December.
